Gender Reveal Party. We had a little gender reveal party for a friend in my neighborhood. I had the pleasure of creating the decor. Here is one item.
Yarn Wreath: Pink and Blue
Let me start by saying I'm not big on searching before I create things. I like to be original. I've never made a yarn wreath before and didn't know how. I just grabbed a wreath and some yarn and started wrapping. Anyone can do it!!
Materials:
Hot Glue
One Straw wreath, leave packaging on: 1.97 at Walmart
Pink Yarn (I got super soft from Walmart, $2.33)
Blue Yarn (same as pink, $2.33)
Letters: Boy and Girl: A.C Moore 19 cents each - 1.40 total
Large initial letter: A.C Moore $2.00 after coupon
Ribbon - I used 1" grosgrain, maybe used about 18-24" prob used about 30 cents of each
Total Cost: around $10
Directions: Hold a bout 2" of yarn out on back and start wrapping the yarn tightly around the straw wreath and that extra bit of yarn. Be sure to leave the packaging on. Wrap half way around and then stop leaving about an inch extra. Cut. Switch to the other color and start by covering the inch of yarn on the back and wrapping around. Finish by hot-gluing the loose end to back.
Add letters by hot-gluing where desired. I also added a small blue button and pink flower embellishment I had laying around
Tie a single or double bow on each side where the colors meet.
Hot glue the large letter (last name initial monogram) in the center.
I finished by gluing a small piece of ribbon to hang the wreath. HINDSIGHT, I should have done this FIRST and wrapped it around so it would stay better.
Happy Yarn-wrapping!
Currently studying the book of Acts:
Acts 5:41 "The apostles left the Sanhedrin, rejoicing because they had been counted worthy of suffering disgrace for the Name. 42 Day after day, in the temple courts and from house to house, they never stopped teaching and proclaiming the good news that Jesus is the Messiah"
I pray that I would BOLDLY proclaim the name of Jesus to all I encounter, no matter the cost, for Christ is WORTHY of all praise and honor and glory.
Very cute my friend!
